Our walks programme restarts on Sunday April 9th with an outing to the Bollihope valley in Weardale with Dr Rob Young. As many of our members will know, Rob undertook an extended campaign of excavation on a number of settlement sites in the valley dating from the Mesolithic through to the Medieval period. This is sure to be a fascinating day out with an acknowledged expert so please book early to make sure of a place.
The start time and meeting point for the walk will be confirmed nearer the date. The walk will be over rough ground at altitude so please come equipped to survive whatever weather Spring in North Pennines is capable of throwing at us, which could mean anything from a snowstorm to strong sunshine. |
