Our Next Excavation (September 2017)
Following our successful survey of the Well Head medieval settlement site in Holwick, Upper Teesdale last month we have now firmed up our plans to return in September and excavate some of the features. Our survey confirmed that a complex pattern of buildings and enclosures existed on this site which probably represents a number of different phases of settlement. The aim of the investigation will be to understand these phases in more detail and see if we can date them more accurately.

The excavation will run from Saturday 2nd September until Sunday 17th September (EXCLUDING Saturday 16th). The working day will start at 09.30am and finish at 4.00pm.

If you would like to take part in this dig you need to be a member of Altogether Archaeology (see Membership page of this website for details) and book a place for the dates you would like to attend by contacting us at altogetherarchaeology@gmail.com Further details of the arrangements for the dig will be sent out to registered participants in due course.
